The undergraduate program prepares students for a career as an HR Manager or personnel director and the graduate program provides managers with the in-depth knowledge and skills necessary to significantly contribute at a senior level to their organization?s human resources and industrial relations functions.

Management Information Systems
Global communication and information technology now plays a major role in modern business. Today every type of successful organization worldwide relies upon information technology to build its business infrastructure, increase productivity, and explore new sources for strategic advances. The Management Information Systems concentration provides students with the knowledge and ability to design implement and manage information technology, business processes and systems. The course also covers business fundamentals, general management theory, human resources management and behavior, accounting, organization, marketing, and business decision-making as well as addressing the information needs of modern business and provides students with the knowledge and skills required to effectively analyze business problems and design computerized systems to solve them. With this concentration, students learn to recognize and analyze management needs for information and identify efficient and effective methods to provide this information. The course will allow students to build and manage information systems and to use technology to solve real world business problems. This is an interdisciplinary program offered in conjunction with the Department of Computer Science but the emphasis is on the application of information technology rather than the computer itself.
Students who wish to have a greater emphasis on business knowledge should choose the Management Information Systems program through this department whereas those wishing to have a greater emphasis on Computer technology should choose the Information Technology programs offered though the university?s College of Computer Science and Information Technology.
