Microsoft Outlook Tips

New editions of Microsoft products come out just about every year and there’s always little changes being made to their programs. Just when you get used to one version something changes and you have to readjust. Working the programs can be especially complicated when you’ve never used them before. For those of you who find themselves struggling around Microsoft Outlook, tips are available to help you navigate your way around. One way you can stay on top of latest features is by getting training from one of the many Microsoft Certified Partners.

Outlook is a communications program revolving around email, so the most important Microsoft Outlook training and tips would involve contacts and contact management. Contacts are the main people you’ll be emailing whether it’s work acquaintances or bosses, or friends and family. To add new contacts whose information you have but don’t have saved in your program, simply click the “New” selection from the toolbar. From there select “Contacts” and a box will pop up with a bunch of empty spaces for you to put in their information. The most important things for you to add about your contact is their name, email, and phone number but you can include as much information about them as you’d like. You can continue to do this until all of your contacts have been added. When someone emails you and you want to add them to your contact list, all you need to do is right-click on their name or email and select “Add to Outlook Contacts” from the menu.

Since you can also make phone calls from Microsoft Outlook, tips for making your life a little easier include saving numbers you use often to speed dial. To do this you need to select “Action” from the toolbar and then click on “Call Contact” followed by “New Call” and then “Dialing Options.” Here you’ll be able to save your most frequently called numbers for quick dialing.

The Microsoft Outlook tips for contacts are a very good place to start for learning about your new program. Another excellent way to become familiar with the program is to explore it yourself. By going through all the options on the toolbar you’ll become acquainted with the options and learn all of the great features offered.
