Secure Checks

Check frauds has been rampant all over the world ever since people realized that they can manipulate the banking system for their own benefit. Ever since the banks realized that such fraud was possible, they have been trying to put into practice several security measures that will aid them counter such fraud. Yet the truth remains that the fraudsters always find a way around even the most modern and most complicated security systems.
Check printing has become a separate industry unto itself. The need for custom made business checks has only fueled the need for such an industry.
Individuals and businesses alike have understood the significance of check printing in the modern era. This is why these days a lot of money is spent on making the checks fraud proof.
There are several methods used to make a check forgery resistant.
1. Micro-printed Warning Band Border: Such borders usually contain the words “original document” printed on it. When the check is copied these words fail to be visible, thus eliminating any possibility of fraud.
2. Photocopy Void: Most checks nowadays have the word “VOID” printed across them which will become visible when the check is copied. The genuine checks will not have this word visible.
3. Invisible Fluorescent Fibers: Most modern checks have such fibers infused into the paper. When examined under black light, these fibers become visible, hence helping to differentiate the genuine checks from the forged ones.
4. Thermo-chronic Ink: The most recent innovation in check security entails the use of thermo-chronic ink markings. A small symbol is printed on the check in such ink. Such symbols are sensitive to heat and help reveal the forged checks.
5. Chemical Stains: The checks also use chemical stains to detect fraud. This makes sure that the checks react to any attempt to alter checks using chemicals
6. Micro-printing: The use of micro-printing has also become popular in the recent past. Such printing will fail to appear if any attempt is made to copy the check.
7. Laser Printing: The use of laser printing ensures that the printing on the checks are not tampered with. That is, it makes them tamper proof.
The introduction of such methods has made checks more secure. This also helps generate business for check printing companies. Such companies will continue to get more and more business as the demand for custom made business checks grows.
